Saturday November 15, 2025 {CBB} Somalia’s Ministry of Education has announced plans to recruit 4,000 new teachers, moving closer to fulfilling its commitment to hire a total of 10,000 teachers nationwide.
According to an official statement on Friday, the ministry has already recruited 6,000 teachers in earlier phases, with the remaining 4,000 set to be added soon.
“The remaining teachers will be recruited soon to fulfill this important commitment to strengthen our national education system,” the ministry said.
The recruitment process has so far been conducted in two phases: phase one (2023) 3,000 teachers hired, phase two (2024):3,000 additional teachers recruited.
Candidates were drawn from the Banadir region and several federal member states. All recruits passed a competitive examination and completed a three-month training program before assuming their duties.
