Thursday, June 4, 2026 (CBB) – The Police Command has once again released a statement regarding clashes that occurred in parts of Mogadishu.
A statement issued by the General Command of the Banadir Regional Police said:
Statement Regarding Armed Incidents Against the Security of the Capital Organized by Individuals and Groups with Harmful Political Agendas
The Capital Police Command confirms that the armed incidents that took place in the capital were organized attacks planned by groups pursuing harmful political interests. These groups used armed militias equipped with heavy weapons.
The militias attacked locations where security forces were stationed; however, the security forces successfully repelled their intended actions.
The security agencies emphasize that these incidents were not peaceful public demonstrations, but rather organized armed actions that directly threatened the security, law and order, and stability of the capital.
Investigations and security operations are ongoing to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in organizing, financing, and carrying out these acts.
The security agencies strongly warn that strict legal measures will be taken against the armed militias and the individuals responsible for organizing these actions, in order to safeguard the security and peace of the capital.
The Capital Police Force calls on the public to cooperate with security agencies, which continue to conduct operations aimed at ensuring overall security and preventing any acts that may endanger the stability and public order of the capital.
