Axad 23, March 2025 {CBB}A statement issued by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) of the South West State of Somalia revealed that 10 members of the Al-Shabaab militia have surrendered to security forces.
“All of these defectors, who belong to various factions of the terrorist group, submitted themselves to NISA after realizing the suffering caused to the people and the devastating impact of the war aimed at eliminating the terrorists,” the statement read.
The defectors appealed to the government and the public for forgiveness in hopes of reintegrating into society.
In recent days, Al-Shabaab members have been unable to withstand the airstrikes and direct combat taking place across the country.
