South West State Leader Sheikh Aadan Madoobe Meets African Union Deputy Envoy in Mogadishu

Sunday ‘  21 ;june 2026 {CBB}Mogadishu, June 21, 2026 – The Leader of South West State of Somalia, Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), who is on an official working visit to Mogadishu, held a key meeting with the Deputy Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for Somalia, Ambassador Mukhtar Osman Kaariye.

The meeting focused on the overall situation in Somalia, particularly security, stability, and development efforts in the South West State regions. The two officials also exchanged views on ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, reconciliation, and the African Union’s role in supporting Somalia.

Sheikh Aadan Madoobe expressed his appreciation for the continued support provided by the African Union to Somalia, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation to achieve lasting peace and inclusive development.

Ambassador Mukhtar Osman Kaariye, for his part, commended the efforts of the South West State administration in improving security, promoting reconciliation, and advancing public services. He reaffirmed the African Union’s commitment to continue supporting Somalia, especially the South West State.

The meeting is part of broader efforts to strengthen international cooperation and accelerate progress toward peace and stability in the country.
