Member of Parliament Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur has been elected as the Speaker of the House of the People following an election held at the House’s headquarters.
Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur received 142 votes, while his opponent, Abdulkadir Daada, secured 30 votes. Additionally, 2 votes were declared invalid.
The official results of the election were announced by Deputy Speaker Saadiya Yasin.
The outcome of the election reflects the broad support he received from Members of Parliament, with votes from the Bay and Bakool regions playing a significant role in his victory.
